Coordinator's Welcome
 Welcome to the Primary School of Vale Verde International School. The Primary School expanded this year and we opened our classes from Year 1 through to Year 6. It has been an exciting time for the new teachers and as Primary Coordinator I have found it interesting and challenging.
The School provides a bilingual curriculum – English and Portuguese – in order to equip the pupils for a confident start to their adopted country and into the Secondary School.
Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Geography, History and PSHE are all taught through the medium of English whereas Cultura e Tradiçoes, Musica´, Area Projecto ( Design Technology) and Teatro are taught in Portuguese. We also try to include as much spoken Portuguese in our PE, Food Technology and IT lessons.
Open Evenings are regularly held to keep parents informed about their children’s progress while at the same time visitors are most welcome to visit our premises or talk to the teachers – please ring Mrs.Shirley Lewis, the school Admissions Officer to arrange a convenient time. |
